About Us

We’re a SF Bay Area based, queer and trans Black, Indigenous, and people of color (QTBIPOC) crew of artist-activist-healers. Best known for Brouhaha, our comedy training program; Liberating Ourselves Locally, our former maker space, and Liberate 23rd Ave., the first queer and trans BIPOC -centered land trust in the US, we make sassy sexy art to help build social justice futures, with an emphasis on healing justice and disability justice.

We've performed all across the US, from dive bars to Harvard's OBERON to the National Queer Arts Festival; taught comedy at Stanford; won Best of the East Bay for "Most Historic Cultural Event" (2016), "Best Building Transformation" (as part of Liberate 23rd Ave., in 2017); and were named to the YBCA 100 of "the 100 people, organizations, and movements shaping the future of culture" (2019) and to KQED's #BayBrilliant series of "artists who comprise the Bay Area's soul" (2018). Thanks for all the love <3

How We Do Things

We amp the artistic work of QTBIPOC, with an emphasis on trans women of color, trans and gender non-conforming people of color with disabilities, and those who are undersupported in queer spaces.
