StormMiguel Florez (he/him) is a trans, queer Xicane filmmaker, whose work includes the award-winning documentaries The Whistle (Producer/Director 2019) and MAJOR! (Editor/Co-Producer 2015). StormMiguel is also an event and media producer, actor, and a life-long musician. He is a 2021 Sundance Trans Possibilities fellow, was a 2020 San Francisco Pride Community Grand Marshal, and is the Lead Programmer for the Translations Seattle Trans Film Festival. His work has been funded by The San Francisco Arts Commission, Sundance, NALAC (National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures), and Horizons Foundation. His first acting role was at the tender age of ten in the made for TV movie, Police Woman Centerfold. He’s originally from Albuquerque, NM, which he very much considers to be his homeland, and has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for 25 years. He gay lives with his gay partner and their 2 gay chihuahuas.
